What products are offered?

We are beginning with bulk fruit and dry goods. Soon, we anticipate being able to offer local free range organic chicken and eggs, case lot groceries and more.

Let us know what you are interested in purchasing.



Can I get on the Pocket Market
Email List?

Pocket Market Produce, times and locations are emailed each week. to get on the email list.

 


How will I know when to order?

We will send an email each week that will let you know what is coming up and the deadline for ordering.

We always have a full line of dry goods and other regular items.

Pocket Market produce will be available for purchase at the warehouse every Saturday.


When will it arrive?

Your orders will be available for pickup the Saturday after the deadline for changes which is Wednesday at 9 am.

Pickup will be 10 to 2 at Unit 3 625 Hillside Ave (between Rock Bay and Government)

Deadline for fruit purchased from off Island may require more lead time. We will let you know in the email.


What if I cannot make it for a pickup time?

Please arrange for a friend to pick it up for you.

If all else fails, leave us a message at 250 385-7974 and we will let you know a time to come by on the following Monday.

 

Registrations

How do I sign up?

Go to the Registration page and fill in at least the mandatory fields. Someone from FoodRoots will be in contact with you by email shortly afterward.


How do I change my registration information?

Go to the Registration page and change any information or service choices you have made.


Weekly Order


What is my weekly order?

Your weekly order is the specific items that you want to pick upon a given date. Dry goods, eggs and groceries are available every week on a pre order basis. You will receive a weekly email reminder to order and we will let you know in that email what seasonal items are available. Pocket Market produce may be purchase d any Saturday at the warehouse.

 


When will my weekly order be ready for pickup?

Your weekly order will be ready for pickup on Saturday between 10 and 2 PM.

 


When can I modify my weekly order?

You can modify your orders until WEDNESDAY 9 am before the Saturday pick up date.

 


How do I modify my weekly order?

To add new items, scroll down to the bottom half of the weekly order page and specify the number of products you want added to your order.

Can't see what you want? Move your mouse over the list of categories on the left and choose a category from the cascading lists that will appear. The products you choose will replace the current list.

Click either Update Order button when you are done.

Your new order will be listed on the weekly order page.

To modify the quantity of a product that you have in your order, change the number in the listing of your weekly order at the top of the weekly order page.

To remove an item from your order, change the number to 0.


How do I find out more about the products?

Click on Add To Order link at top of page.

Or Scroll DOWN to A dd to Order section on the bottom half of the page under the Add to Order banner.

To get more information about a product, move the mouse over the Category Navigator and click on the Category or sub category. The product ' s name will appear with a short description showing. If the product is underlined click on the product name for more information.

 


How can I tell
if my modifications have been made?

After clicking on the Update Order button, scroll UP to the top section of the screen.

The screen will have refreshed to show you your new order.

Also, you will get an email when the session is over showing you what is in your order ( if you requested that service ). Check the email section of your Registration Page.



Holidays


What if I'm going on holidays?

No orders come automatically.

If you wish to stop receiving emails for a period of time then let us know by email or phone.




Boxes


How can I order a box?

Currently FoodRoots offers one Holiday Box in December. It is stocked with over 25 LBS of local winter vegetables.

We offer this box to help you stock up your pantry for the holiday season

AND/OR to give as a gift to friends

AND/OR donate to a charity. We will ensure your donation is delivered to a number of charitable food distribution organizations.


Your Account

How do I pay?

When you pick up your order you can pay by cash or cheque made out to FoodRoots.


How do I know if my payments went through?

Go to Review Your Account and check to see it if has been listed as a Credit to your account. Your current payment should appear within 5 working days of your payment.


How do I know if I was invoiced correctly?

Go to the calendar on weekly order page and click on the date of the invoice in question.


What does it mean when an amount
shown is in brackets?

($50.00) means you have a credit on your account!

What is my standing order?

Your standing order is your permanent order that you want to pick up each week without your intervention required.

How do I modify my standing order?

  • To modify the quantity of a product that you have in your order, change the number in the listing of your standing order at the top of the standing order page .
  • To remove an item from your order, change the number to 0.
  • To add new items, scroll down to the bottom half of the standing order page and specify the number of products you want added to your order in the quantity box.
  • Can't see what you want? Move your mouse over the list of categories on the left and choose a category from the cascading lists that will appear.
  • Click either Update Order button when you are done.
  • Your new standing order will be listed on the standing order page .
  • Changes to your Standing Order will alter orders on or after Saturday 20 June 2009 .

Will changing my Standing Order affect my Weekly Order

The current customizing of your order will remain. If you have eliminated a Standing Order item from your Weekly Order it will not be added back in. If you add products to your Standing Order they will be added on to the Weekly Order.

How do I find out more about the products?

To get more information about a product, click on the products name on the bottom half of standing order page .

Do I have to have a standing order?

No, you can come in each week and order as needed.
